Located in the north center of Mexico, San Luis Potosí was founded
by the Spanish in 1592 with the name "San Luis Real de Minas del Potosí". A miner town by that time, across the centuries
San Luis Potosi had had an important role in Mexico's history. Twice country's capital during the French Intervention
(1860's) nowadays is recognized like an "industrial pole" and a "Colonial jewel", as well as an important place for the (past)
struggles for Mexico democratization.
